The Episode 0 “Eikō no Tokusha Nika” (The Glorious Special Vehicle Division 2) prologue to Mamoru Oshii’s live-action The Next Generation -Patlabor- series and film premiered on Saturday on Star Channel, a channel for movies on the BS (Broadcast Satellite) system. In this short which runs about 15 minutes long, maintenance crew chief Shigeo Shiba of the Patlabor police robots recounts the history of Special Vehicle Section 2 Division 2.
