Valvrave the Liberator Episode 1 (Eng Sub)

Valvrave the Liberator Episode 1 (Eng Sub)
The story is set the year Shinreki ("True Calendar") 71, when 70% of the human race lives in space due to the development of space cities. Between two major powers — the Dorushia Military Pact Federation and the Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS) — there is a small neutral nation called Jiōru that has prospered economically. The protagonist Haruto (voiced by Ryota Ohsaka), a high school student who lives in Jiōru, encounters the mysterious "forbidden" humanoid weapon Valvrave when the Dorushia army invades.
Kou Matsuo (Kure-nai, Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Rozen Maiden) is directing the series at Sunrise. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Negima!, Guilty Crown) is handling the series composition. Manga creator Katsura Hoshino (D.Gray-man) is handling the original character designs for the series, and Tatsuya Suzuki (Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record: Avant-Title) is adapting Hoshino's designs for animation. Makoto Ishiwata (Robotics;Notes, Blassreiter) of Nitroplus, Naohiro Washio (Bodacious Space Pirates, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Fafner), and Kunio Okawara (Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Armored Trooper Votoms, Yatterman) are handling mechanical design.
The anime will premiere on April 11 on MBS's "Animeism" late-night programming block. T.M. Revolution and Nana Mizuki are performing the opening theme song "Preserved Roses" together. The singer Elisa is performing the second ending theme song.

  2. I couldn't help but notice the similarities to gundam throughout the episode, but still plenty of differences.

    1. Unfortunately this one whole episode is a mashed up or recycled mecha ideas coming into one form. There is a very noticeable scene in middle that probably came from Gundam Seed Destiny ep. 1. The whole emotion affecting the piloting skill from either original Gundam or Gundam UC. The mech comes out from underneath the school, this idea is so retro. Check out any and most transformable mecha shows from 80's to 90's for reference. Physical affliction of riding a mecha could be from either Evangelion or Raxhephon, etc. Five kids invading a secretly guarded location for developing mobile suits, hmmm doesn't sound familiar? Oh Yeah the first episode of Gundam Seed. The only original idea is the choice to throw away humanity in order to man the suit and LITERALLy throw away humanity. Congratulation in order for you to defend and avenge your friends you became a 'zombie'!!!
