The story is set the year Shinreki ("True Calendar")

cities. Between two major powers — the Dorushia Military Pact Federation and
the Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS) — there is a small neutral nation called
Jiōru that has prospered economically. The protagonist Haruto (voiced by Ryota

"forbidden" humanoid weapon Valvrave when the Dorushia army invades.
Kou Matsuo (Kure-nai, Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Rozen Maiden) is
directing the series at Sunrise. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Negima!, Guilty
Crown) is handling the series composition. Manga creator Katsura Hoshino
(D.Gray-man) is handling the original character designs for the series, and
Tatsuya Suzuki (Mobile Suit Gundam Battlefield Record: Avant-Title) is adapting
Hoshino's designs for animation. Makoto Ishiwata (Robotics;Notes, Blassreiter)
of Nitroplus, Naohiro Washio (Bodacious Space Pirates, Mobile Suit Gundam 00,
Fafner), and Kunio Okawara (Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Armored Trooper
Votoms, Yatterman) are handling mechanical design.
The anime will premiere on April 11 on MBS's
"Animeism" late-night programming block. T.M. Revolution and Nana
Mizuki are performing the opening theme song "Preserved Roses"
together. The singer Elisa is performing the second ending theme song.
