1:1 Scale Tetsujin 28 Statue in Kobe (Japan) - Image Gallery
It's a life-sized statue of Tetsujin 28, AKA Gigantor! Tetsujin was a popular manga (comic) in the 1950's, made into an anime (cartoon) series in the 60's then again in the 80's. It was the first anime to feature a giant robot, according to Wikipedia. The Americans renamed him Gigantor for their domestic market, apparently.
