Attendees can slide under 18.5-meter-long Rei at NTV
summer amusement event

The official Evangelion website announced on Friday that
an 18.5-meter (60-foot) long figure of the Neon Genesis Evangelion character
Rei Ayanami will be built outside of the NTV Tower in the Shiodome area of
Tokyo as part of the "Shiohaku Expo 2012" summer amusement event. The
figure will feature a slide (pictured at right) that attendees can slide down
during the event.
The event goes from July 25 through August 26 and is open
from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
Additionally, a third branch of the Evangelion Store will
open in the nearby NTV company building featuring limited-edition merchandise.
By comparison, the life-size Gundam currently standing in
front of the Gundam Front Tokyo at Diver City Tokyo stands at 18 meters (59
feet) tall.
